Hello, I'm Dagmawit — a computer science graduate and backend engineer based in Addis Ababa, drawn to physics, space, and the ideas underneath the systems we build. Quantum mechanics and distributed systems interest me for the same reason: both are about what happens when you can't observe everything at once.
I build human-centered software. EchoMind Sanctuary is an anonymous emotional support platform for the Ethiopian context, with a fine-tuned emotion classifier and a crisis safety engine behind it. DomainPulse is a DNS intelligence tool that surfaces an organization's public attack surface. I also write about distributed systems, grounded in what unreliable infrastructure actually teaches you.
I work slowly and deliberately, favoring clarity and usefulness over cleverness. What keeps me going is curiosity, and the belief that technology is most worth building when it supports, educates, or protects someone.
An interactive field guide to light: dispersion through a prism, spectral power curves you can draw on, cone-cell sensitivity, opponent processing, metameric failure, gamut boundaries, and a small psychophysics lab that measures your own colour acuity in ΔE. Built to argue one thing — that colour is a property of the mind, not of objects.

A DNS intelligence platform: WHOIS records, DNS routing, and SSL/TLS auditing, resolved through a four-queue Celery architecture so results stream in progressively instead of blocking on the slowest lookup. Produces a Security Exposure Score for any domain. Used it to file a responsible disclosure report on ethiotelecom.et from public certificate-transparency data.

An anonymous emotional-support platform for the Ethiopian context. UUID-only identity, zero PII collected. A fine-tuned ModernBERT classifier reads emotion across eleven labels; a crisis safety engine sits over it, reaching 0.95 recall at 1.00 precision, with Ethiopian hotline resources one tap from every screen.
